“Wherever I wander, wherever I roam. I couldn’t be fonder of my big home” (Yup, I just quoted the Bare Necessities).
We are both from Inverness in Scotland, which is known as the capital of Highlands. If you’re not sure where it is then you may have heard of ‘Nessie’, The Loch Ness Monster? Well Inverness is situated just under 10 miles from the banks of Loch Ness where this famous legend is said to reside, and that’s probably what the city is most famous for. With a population of approximately 60,000 people it isn’t exactly a sprawling metropolis, but it’s quite a nice city that’s easily travelled on foot. The city is expanding and is widely reported as one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, made evident by the fact that we recently got a Nando’s! It also makes an ideal base for hiring a car and visiting the surrounding areas of the Highlands & Islands. We would recommend doing this if you visit here as public transport to go to more remote places isn’t the greatest and you will no doubt want to stop and take in the scenery around you.
